Privacy Policy

Simple Sets — Last updated: April 29, 2026

Simple Sets is designed with privacy in mind. It is an offline-first app — your songs and setlists never leave your device unless you explicitly choose to back them up to your own Google Drive account. The Developer does not operate any servers, does not collect personal information, and does not have access to your content.

Information We Collect

Data You Enter (Stored Locally Only)

This data is stored entirely on your device using local storage. It is never transmitted to the Developer or any server.

File Import (Stored Locally Only)

You can import songs by selecting a file from your device or by sharing a file to the App from another app. When you do, the file's contents are read and stored locally on your device. The Developer does not receive or transmit this data.

Google Account (Optional)

If you choose to sign in with Google to enable Drive backup, the App accesses:

You can disconnect your account at any time from Settings → Backup & Sync, which removes your account session from the App. To fully revoke the App's access to your Google account, visit myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Crash Reports (Firebase Crashlytics)

The App includes optional crash reporting powered by Firebase Crashlytics. Crash reporting is disabled by default. On first launch you will be prompted to enable it. It can be enabled and disabled at any time in Settings (the "Crash Reporting" toggle).

When enabled, a crash report may include:

Crash reports do not include your songs, lyrics, setlists, or any personally identifiable information. When crash reporting is disabled, no data is sent to Firebase. Crashlytics is operated by Google; see Google's Privacy Policy.

Font Loading (Google Fonts)

The App uses Google Fonts, which may download font files from Google's servers on first launch. This transmits your IP address to Google as part of a standard network request. Fonts are cached locally on your device after the initial download and no further requests are made. See Google's Privacy Policy for details.

In-App Purchases

Purchase transactions are handled entirely by Google Play or the Apple App Store. The Developer does not receive or store your payment information. The App stores only a local record on your device indicating whether the purchase has been completed.

Information We Do Not Collect

Data Storage and Security

All your content is stored locally on your device and protected by your device's built-in security (e.g., Android's app sandbox). If you use Google Drive backup, your data is protected by your Google account credentials and Google's security infrastructure.

Data Retention

Your songs, setlists, and settings are stored locally on your device for as long as the App is installed, or until you delete them manually. Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data.

If crash reporting is enabled, crash reports submitted to Firebase Crashlytics are retained by Google for 90 days per Google's standard retention policy. If you disable crash reporting, no crash data is collected or transmitted. Previously submitted crash reports cannot be retroactively deleted as the Developer does not have access to individual report identifiers.

Because all content is stored on your device, the Developer has no ability to retrieve, access, or delete your personal data on your behalf.

International Data Transfers

By using the App's cloud features (Google Drive backup or Crashlytics), you acknowledge that your data may be processed and stored on servers located in the United States or other jurisdictions where privacy laws may differ from those in Ontario.

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13, or under the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from such children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us at the address below.

Your Rights

You can delete all your data at any time from Settings → Backup & Sync → Reset App Data. This permanently removes all songs, setlists, and settings from your device.

If you have a Google Drive backup, you can delete it from Settings → Backup & Sync (after signing in).

You can export your data at any time using the backup export feature in Settings → Backup & Sync.

Because your data is stored locally on your device, the Developer cannot access it and therefore cannot fulfill requests to retrieve or modify it on your behalf.

To submit a data deletion request: Data Deletion Request Form

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted with an updated "Last updated" date and noted in the App's store listing update history. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
